Kuala Lumpur – Eighty years ago on August 5 in Chicago, USA, the late Leo Burnett opened the doors of his advertising agency to the public. Since then, the start-up has grown to become one of the largest agencies in the world, with a global network of over 9,000 employees in 86 offices. To celebrate the milestone, Leo Burnett Group Malaysia threw its staff an anniversary party.
Held in Bijan Bar and Restaurant on October 8, the dinner event saw an attendance of about 180 local Burnetters. From neon colours to workout outfits, many came dressed to impress, echoing the theme of the night: Funky 80s. As retro hits filled the air, partygoers were treated to a spread of goodies from the decade which included snacks, candies and toys.
On the agenda that night was a series of award distribution, recognising Burnetters for their long service and achievement in the industry. Two other titles that were also handed out were the No MC Award (rewarding staff members who clock in for their duty daily without fail) and the Leo Burnett’s Lonely Person Award (honouring a staff member who is always clocking in extra hours to get the job done).
Injecting more fun into the night, teams of Burnetters were pitted against one another in the Leo Pop Quiz, where their knowledge of the Leo Burnett Group was put to the test. Best Dressed prizes were also given out to the most deserving man and woman of the night.
